Message due to the Covid-19

Dear members, partners and friends of the CCISP,

Assuming our responsibility towards all stakeholders of our organization regarding the latest news related to the still very uncertain risks of the new Covid-19/Coronavirus, and following the recommendations of international health organizations and many of our member companies, the Board of Directors of the CCISP decided to cancel all events and gatherings until the end of April 2020. Therefore, the following events will not take place:

• 12/03/2020: Workshop with Barrocas Advogados/Moneris about the concise impacts of the new State’s budget and data protection and competition law regulation for the day-to-day procedure of companies.
• 26/03/2020: General Assembly at Altis Belém, Lisbon. Being aware of the statutory provision (art. 10 n. 1) that the GA should take place in the first quarter of each year, we consider the public health to be a superior good to this statutory rule. Precaution must therefore prevail in this case. For this reason, we plan to exceptionally postpone the GA with the same agenda for the second quarter of this year.

There are not yet new dates for these events. In mid-April the risk will be assessed again on the bases of new data about the dangers of the Covid-19, in order to decide about the realization of all the events from May on.

This decision was not made on the basis of hysteria or scaremongering at the current events regarding the spread of the Covid-10 virus but is solely a preventive measure that was taken after careful risk assessment and based on our zero-risk policy. In case of doubt, we prefer to follow the safe line and avoid, rather than later regret.

We hope to be able to count on your understanding, and again on your active participation in our initiatives starting from May 2020 on.
