CEO of ZURICH INSURANCE in Portugal wants to strengthen financial relations between Portugal and Switzerland
The CEO of the Portuguese branch of Zurich is the new President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Switzerland in Portugal.
The new President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Switzerland Portugal (CCISP), António Bico, has the objective of “strengthening the economic and financial relations” between the two countries over the next three years. According to INE data, in 2014 there were more than 3,400 Portuguese companies exporting to the Swiss territory, which is the 15th customer of the Portuguese business and its 28th supplier. Reflecting the growing Portuguese economic interests in Switzerland, where lives a large community of immigrants, the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) opened February a delegation in Zurich, in order to the strengthen its international network.
In the Executive Presidency since 2007
According to the curriculum statement issued by Zurich Portugal, the chief executive of the Swiss insurance company branch, was elected by all present members without exceptions in the last General Meeting of the CCISP, an organization founded in 1987 and having currently over 140 members, including companies and individuals.
Being at that company since 1996, António Bico ascended to a chief executive in 2007 after occupying various positions of responsibility. He studied at the Institute of Higher Financial and Fiscal Studies of Porto (IESF), where he made a Master in Business and Management and also an MBA.
