Martinhal Family Hotels & Resorts Win the AMADEUS BRIGHTER AWARDS 2015

Chitra Stern, founder and manager of Martinhal Group, received the award for the results achieved with the brand “Martinhal” and its expansion in Portugal with the opening of three new units.

The first unit of the group, the Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel in Sagres, working since 2010 is in its fifth year of operation. Since then, Martinhal has exceeded expectations for a hotel and resort in a “remote” destination, reaching in 2015 a turnover of 17.5 million euros, clearly establishing itself as one of the leading players in the hotel sector in Portugal.

Over the years, the owners and founders, Chitra and Roman Stern have been working on expanding the Martinhal brand, taking it to new locations – in June 2015, the Martinhal took the first step in the expansion with the opening of Martinhal Farm Family Resort (formerly Monte da Quinta Club) in the prestigious Quinta do Lago in the Algarve. In March 2016, it will open the Martinhal Cascais Family Hotel (formerly Hotel Onyria Edition) with 84 rooms in Cascais, on the coast of Lisbon. And the Martinhal Chiado Family Suites, with 37 apartments is scheduled to open in May 2016 and will be “the first luxury hotel for families in the city center, around the world” (“world’s first City-center Elegant Family Hotel”), located in the Chiado in Lisbon!
