Chitra Stern wins entrepreneurship award of the London Business School
Chitra Stern, alumna of the London Business School (MBA 2000), won this year’s Accomplished Entrepreneur Award from London Business School for the project Martinhal Beach Resort and Hotel.
Chitra and Roman Stern the founders/owners of this multimillion euro hotel and resort project in Sagres, Portugal which opened in 2010.
The Deloitte Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the London Business School forms part of the panel which decides who wins the award.
Through its annual Entrepreneurship Awards, London Business School recognises the achievements of the School’s alumni who have set up successful entrepreneurial ventures.
Martinhal opened in 2010 and has quickly established itself amongst well-heeled families in Europe as THE resort to go to for a holiday / short-break. Apart from the core tenets of Design, Families and Service, Martinhal focuses heavily on delivering high quality food made from fresh local ingredients. The intention of Chitra and Roman is to multiply this successful brand into other hotel projects in Portugal.
Chitra and Roman Stern also have four children – all born in Portugal. She feels one of her life´s achievements is having successfully combined business and family life.
