Sugalidal becomes the second largest producer of tomato concentrate

Benavente, 05/04/2013 – Portuguese company Sugalidal becomes the second largest producer worldwide of tomato concentrate

The Portuguese group Sugalidal of Benavente became in 2012 the second largest producer of tomato concentrate, after having acquired the factory Tresmontes Luchati in Chile.

With a processing 1,150 million tons of tomato, an increase of 143% compared to 2011, Sugalidal moved to the second place in the world rankings, after the American Morning Star [production of 3,079 million tons]. The Chinese Tunhe went from second place in 2011 to the fourth place with 1,030 million tons.
